Bastard Nation announces a BRING IN THE BASTARDS Membership Challenge, open to all members of Bastard Nation. Between now and June 1st, 1997, whoever refers the most contributing members (Proud Bastards or Friends) to Bastard Nation, will win a complimentary trip to the 1st annual Bastard Nation conference, including a roundtrip ticket to Chicago from anywhere in the continental United States (or $300 to be used towards travel if you are outside of the continental U.S), free conference registration, and three nights free accommodations (July 17th,18th. and 19th. Yes, you'll have roommates, but we'll do our best to give you ones of your choosing). Second Prize is three nights accommodation at the conference, ( again, July 17th,18th. and 19th. Yes, you'll have roommates, but we'll do our best to give you ones of your choosing), and third prize is free conference registration.THE FINE PRINT: Sponsors (Bastard Nation) are not responsible for lost, postage due, late or misdirected mail. 1. Anyone who refers at least 5 Contributing members will be eligible for the Grand Prize. If no one individual refers at least five new members, the contest will be canceled. The person who has referred the most new contributing members over five, as of midnight, PST,on June 1st, will win the Grand Prize. If there is a tie, the winner(s) will be determined by a random drawing among the members who are tied, to be carried out on June 1st, 1997. Contributing Proud Bastard or Friend of Bastard Nation membership is $25 a year. Organizational and family memberships are $50 a year, but will count as only one new referred member each for the purposes of this contest. Lifetime FOB or PB memberships are $100, but will also only count as one new referred member. 2. Referred new members must include the name of the Bastard Nation member who referred them on their membership application. Please make sure that this is done since you will not get credit for memberships which do not bear your name on the application. Contestants will be given regular updates on the total and names of their referred members in order to track their progress and avoid mistakes. New member applications may be emailed or faxed, but all new members' payments, in the form of checks or money orders, MUST be received in the BN mailbox by June 1st when the final tally will be taken. We suggest collecting the checks yourself and mailing them all to BN well in time to meet the June 1st deadline. 3. If the winner(s) cannot attend the 1997 conference, s/he has the option of deferring to the 1998 conference, location to be announced.
