About the Hotel
This is a *gorgeous* hotel. It has been totally renovated, and 50% of the rooms have been redone, with all of them being redone by the time we get there. The bathrooms are marble, and they have glass shower doors. A nice plus is that they have a sink and mirror both inside and outside the bathroom, which is most convenient for folks who are staying in rooms together. They also have outlets right next to the phones, so that if someone wants to plug in their laptop and check email, they can. (Very important for our crowd!). They have a magnificent front lobby, with a gift shop. The front desk keeps complimentary toiletries and hair dryers for folks who are forgetful. They have a decent restaurant and a nice bar with darts and such, which is open until the wee hours. They have hospitality room, open twenty four hours with tourist brochures and complimentary brewed coffee and tea. They have a great swimming pool which is, get this, open 24 hours. They have a free shuttle from O'Hare airport that runs every twenty minutes to and from the hotel. Between Midnight and 6am it runs every half hour, but they have a direct line from the airport to the front desk if someone needs to get the shuttle right away. People can also take the "l", our rapid transport, from O'Hare with ease.
